I used my heat blanket today to bend a piece of binding. As it heated up I noticed a bubble form in what would be the waist section of the blanket. It appears the silicone covering has come loose of the innards. When I pushed the bubble down I could feel the heating elements are still working in that area.
I'm sure this was caused by my bending method (slat, blanket, wood, slat) which I will change to (slat, blanket, slat, wood, slat) to lessen the friction on the blanket. I'm just wondering if this condition is terminal or if a high temp silicone sealant can be injected to re-adhere the loose coating.
Does anyone ground their benders? I am considering changing the power source to a GFCI circuit and grounding the slats. I'll be replacing this blanket as soon as I can afford it. I spent my extra cash with our wood selling sponsors. (check out Hibdon Hardwood for Walnut and Olive, nice stuff!)
