I finished up a 1935 National Triolian polychrome paint job . And then got back to my sloped shoulder dred. Finished the top binding and purf and end graft.

I am always amazed at the quality (and quantity) of work shown here! Great stuff, Folks!

Chris; Clever way to deal with the binding / purfling on the arm rest. If you don't mind, I would like to try something similar. (When I get my courage up!) Looks like a less complicated way to deal with the issue, while still being very attractive. Love the "high bling" rosette too!
Cheers, y'all. Lots of remarkable work goin' on.
Dan
One of these days I'm gonna get the picture posting thing organized!

I barrowed that style from Peter Marreiros of Cornerstone Guitars or as known here as PeterM. But I have yet to make it as clean as Peter does it. But that's my first attempt at that style and only my 2nd. armrest. I thought the same thing when I saw some of his pictures posted too. I also like his one sound port design that's sort of a 4 tear drop cross.

Burton,

Thanks for all the input. Some day have to start a thread on the differences in MadRose.

Did you cut the pearl diamonds yourself?

Steve, No I bought the strips from JoAnne at Rescue pearl. After I finished this rosette I tried to go back and buy another set but she had just sold the last three sets to someone. Wish I was able to cut and set things that small but right now I am hoping she can come up with some more sets. Thanks for the compliment on the rosette. Thinking of putting herringbone purfinlg on the top to set it off. Tim

Tim, I also love that rosette! Please let us know if she gets more of these.

My new garage shop is almost complete. I need to decide on what to do about the floor. I have already purchased 6 rubber mats to put down around my work stations, but I was planning to seal the concrete with one of the epoxy products. Does anyone have any experience with any products or advice they can share?

I see on an earlier post in this thread that John Killin chose to use Vinyl Tiles in part due to concerns with the epoxy products.

Thanks for any feedback.

vinyl tiles are a good idea - cheap and real easy to put down, thick ones would be soft on the legs and the tools as well.

The neck and bridge are on the Bubinga wedge, set up and nut slotting today strings, and pick a first tune Friday. I should have some pictures to post on the weekend.
