Michael,

I think that a big part of the success of your plans is that have are tried and true and can be commented on by members of the forum.

It might be a good idea that when a new forum plan is available, we open up some sort of a group build. I would be interested in hearing the comments from other builders on a set of plans. This would add to the value that the OLF brings to the plans.

Just a thought,

John

OH no a group build wow7-eyes laughing6-hehe laughing6-hehe we have done a couple groupe builds around here and I have to tell ya if we do a group build to test out before publishing, We will all be worm food before Stewmac gets the plans eek

Yes, acoustic bass, flat-top bass, what ever you want to call it. There ain't much available in the way of plans.

I promised my nephew that I'd build him one, but then couldn't find any plans. I was going to use the OLF MJ plans as a starting point, in terms of body shape anyways, sort of a cross between the OLF MJ and a Fender precision bass. A 4 string and 5 string option would be wonderful.

Here's a link to the Guitarmaker article on David Berkowitz' baritone (.pdf). There's a plan in there too. It's a "bridge doctor" baritone...

I guess what I meant was after the plans were available, the forum could do something to encourage multiple builders to build from them so we could get their feed back.

Sort of like everyone know that if you build from the Antes plans your guitar will probably end up over braced. I would think it would encourage an initial buy of the plans, plus add value to them as the years go on.

Got to have the Gibson AJ (Advanced Jumbo).

That's my vote.

That's true. The GAL has one, although I've not heard of anyone who's made one, so I don't know how well it works.

There's a free one on the MIMF.

There's also a free one on R.M.Mottola's site which looks as if it ought to be good but is a little more 'outside the box'.http://liutaiomottola.com/instruments/Tinozza.htm

I'm making one very loosely based on the Tinozza at the moment and it's drawn in Autocad but I wouldn't want to pass on my plans until I find out how it turns out.
