Love Christmas and I've got a great mother-in-law. All from Lee Valley: miniature low angle block plane, 1/2" Japanese dovetail chisel, striking knife.

I didn't get anything, but I gave my nephew the mandolin I made for him. The look on his face was all I needed for Christmas!

Doug, nice guitars and nice bench (tools too). Think I like that rosette on the right, if
I could only see it better. They'll look sharp under finish for sure.

Mrs. Santa got one of everything I had in my Stewmac and LMI carts. Mrs. Santa is most definitely a keeper.

Well I got some help, and need some help.

Gift certificates to Lie Nielsen - check

I'm a beginner and still working on my complement of tools. I'm thinking about getting cam clamps. What size do you find most useful, and dare I ask how many?

Hope you all had a good holiday and best wishes in the new year.

Gregor

I use them for practically everything. Two each of 4", 6" and 8" is a good start. If you want to use them to glue braces, then having a couple more 6" ones is better.

I was Santa to myself this year. I finished my Fox-style side bender on Dec. 24. :)

Image

All I've bent on it so far is some practice pieces out of common white maple. (Bent before it was totally complete. Note the missing legs)

I'll be out in the shop today putting the finishing touches on that Solera.

Nice, Terence. I recently picked one up, too. I can't wait to use it. I got the mini-fence and small-radius attachments as well.

I'd like to explore some traditional woodworking this year. I got a few tools and a dovetail DVD from David Barron, and David Finck's book and DVD on making wooden planes. Can't wait to get into them!

This Christmas I only got drinking gifts... Somehow I could not persuade anyone to offer me a Tasai chisel, go figure...
That Cochran router base sure looks impressive - does it give one much more than the simpler Karol design? Please tell me not so I don't get tempted...

Happy new year!

After making sure 5 kids and 7 Grandkids were taken care of:
I made a list with a StewMac precision router base at the top.
They got me socks and underwear. Go figure.
My birthday is coming soon, I'll have to treat myself. LOL

If you are talking about the router base for the Dremel, I have one and it is great! I's suggest you just cough up the cash for one asap and not wait for next Christmas - unless your birthday will be here quicker than you can come up with the cash! :D

I got more than I deserved....

It's actually been a great holiday season. Lots of friends and family at the house, lots of tunes, got a new banjo finished in time to play tunes with friends and family. Great way to bring in the new year. I'm truly a lucky guy.

But still, Santa brought this. Should be able to produce enough heat to bend a few sides....

I bought myself the Dremel base and I requested socks and underwear.
New underwear and socks feel great while I route!
