Glad to see that the back braces are slim. I'm moving away from massive back braces. I like slim and tall.
Is that a BRW lamination also?

Joe, although Larson's used a 5-6 brace back with two low wide braces opposite the bridge area, I never bought into that. Supposedly, the wide low braces were used as it was felt at the time that tall braces interfered with the transmission of sound inside the instrument. Seems as through that has been disproven. My new Stella 12 has a 3 brace back.
The back lams are red spruce and wenge...

Nice Haans! That is a little beauty in all aspects. DD's styling is right up my ally. Gotta try and learn me that one. Just curious. Do use a wider than usual lining or just not go all the way through the top to handle your very cool purfling?

Thanks Danny!
Dakota Dave is more into rags and old time, but can do a VERY respectable job with blues. I can't think of a finer ragtime player than Dave. He's just got it nailed.
We went over the tunes to play for each instrument and on the parlor and Stahl, Dave had to compensate for lighter strings and on the Stahl, he had to be very careful as the action is very low and that allows me to play it without much pain. I think he picked a wonderful tune for the Stahl, and it shows how delightfully sensitive the instrument is while being complex and clear. Were I to raise the action a bit, it would bark.
The kerfing is normal width. My purfling rarely exceeds .060" in thickness, as is the abalone I use, so there is plenty of top left under the purfling. I did a little tootie on how I do the purfling here...

It's about 2/3 the way down. Hope that helps, Danny.
