Hi Haans, I think the standard post spacing for 6 on a plate tuners is pretty close to the same as standard mandolin post spacing. I think that the Kluson individual 6 on a side (fender) style tuners have a similar spacing. Using a standard set may not have given you the 18:1 ratio ( most are 12 or 15 to 1) but the post spacing would be the same.
