Thank you, Stephen and family, for hosting such a wonderful day. Very kind of you to open your shop for this event. John, terrific job of teaching several sticky spots with building and patiently answering our questions. Larry and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many others afflicted with this malaise (and those who love them) :) Will try to post a few pics if they turned out and I can figure out how to do it.

Well after being a forum member for a while I thought it appropriate to have my first post here. Great day at the BCG open house at Steve's house. Great to meet all you guy especially the local guys. Hope to keep the communication going locally.

Thank you Stephen and John for hosting and demonstration. Some things you just have to see in person to gain a new perspective of the craft.
Triangle luthiers should get together more often. I know of a few who were not present that would have enjoyed yesterday. Just a thought.

Let me throw in my thanks as well. Thanks to John for making the drive down and to Stephen for hosting. I would also be up for any local triangle events.

Also, a couple of follow up questions. Over lunch, Stephen mentioned "Royal Lac" to me as a Shellac alternative. Do I have the name correct? I can't find it with online searches.

And one for John: You were showing us your new template at the end of the session. Are those on your website?

Royal Lac here - http://www.shellacfinishes.com/product- ... royal-lac/

I went looking for the notch template as well and the only one he has currently listed is here along with the template: http://www.bluescreekguitars.com/shop/i ... cts_id=270

glad you all enjoyed the experience. I was fun for me also. I am happy that we can share information , that is what these are all about. I had the last few open houses at my shop and it was kind of Steve to open his shop for this road show. So nice to see faces and meet people.
