David, I think I would have to do a lot of practicing before feeling confident enough to crank the height adjustment while the fingerboard is moving through the thickness sander, but I am curious and may play around with it this weekend. I've got the Performax 16-32, which is basically an earlier version of what you have. Just curious, what is your typical taper from nut to 12th fret?

Thank you for this idea! The speed of the belt is constant and I know the height adjustment for each 1/8 revolution. It would not take very much practice to be able to consistently turn the crank the correct amount within the time it takes the fret board to pass.

Wendy,
My boards typically are about 6.5mm at the nut to 4.5 or so at the 19th, thus around 5.5-5 at the 12th.
This is one of the variables that I can control to adjust for the desired action height and to keep the general construction (top dome, bridge height etc.) constant.

John, remember that this is done incrementally!
