I don't build many "permanant" jigs, I do a lot of temporary jigs made from offcuts held together with clamps. The good thing is I don't have to store the jigs or remember what they're for. The bad thing is I do have to remember to adequately tighten the clamps.

Larry ,I`ve got a note book ,that I`ve written down each step in the building process.I know this sounds tedious but it has really helped.I especially write down all the mistakes ,so I won`t repeat them.Of course I also write down when something goes well so I can repeat that process as well.I also have a notebook that is filled with different ideas from a lot of other builders.Many from this forum.I make sure that I keep track of the ideas that work well for me.

Take pictures and notes of the project as you go along. I have a bad memory when it comes to certain things so this helps.
