Here's what I see. Taking the section from the nut to the 12th fret, and taking it down should come close to where the bridge is(it should be right there, but the photo isn't straight-on, so we need to account for the angle), and it's not even close.

I'm not trying to ruin your day; with a floating bridge, it's an easy task to move it forward to where it needs to be. It wouldn't be centered with the F holes any more, but having a playable instrument is more important.

Again, if you provide a straight-on photo, we'll know for sure if it's your camera and lens that distorted it so much, or if the bridge is incorrectly located.

Trust me , the bridge is in the right position. Ive built enough guitars to know where the bridge sits . Its compensated 1mm on the treble side and 6.5 mm on bass side for intonation . Its the angle of the photo making it look off. I spend allot of time on intonation so i know Its right .

im away from home untill monday but can post a pic for you when i get back

You have the bridge way too far back.

I guess you got puzzled by an optical illusion due to the missing pickup(s) and pickguard - two "omissions" which make this guitar so unique and, in my opinion stunningly elegant. I like the color too. Great work Ted! [:Y:] [clap]

I actually made a pickguard but in the end decided to leave it out. I also installed a k&k pure mini archtop pickup. Has anyone else used this pickup for archtops ?

Gorgeous guitar, beautiful design, build and finish. Love the color especially.

Again, if you provide a straight-on photo, we'll know for sure if it's your camera and lens that distorted it so much, or if the bridge is incorrectly located.

Fer Pete's sake Mario, let the man be. It looks to me like he's capable of operating a ruler. [uncle]

I know nothing about archtops, but that sure is one stunning work of art! I can't take my eyes off it and it's the same rich color as the glass of wine in my hands.

Actually, what first caught my eye was the lack of string free length between the bridge and tailpiece.

Fer Pete's sake Mario, let the man be. It looks to me like he's capable of operating a ruler

Creating a beautiful carved instrument and then coming up with one of the finest finishes and colors this humble luthier has seen in a long while(I'm serious; this is one FINE finish and beautiful color!) is one thing, but anyone can make a slight mistake in the placement of a floating bridge. I always call it like I see it, and I see a bridge that is father down than it ought to be; I truly hope it is a creation of the camera and lens and the angle it was shot at, but if it isn't, I would be remorseful if I hadn't done what I could to help out in correcting it.

Believe me I understood your initial post and after I read it I went back and looked at the picture and said, "dang, I think Mario's onto something there.", but he responded that he understood scale length and that it was fine. I think that was enough.
I think what we're seeing is a bit of a fisheye effect from a close-up shot. If you notice the horizon has a pretty good curve on it too.

And once again, you ain't kidding about the quality, especially the finish.

Ted, the lines of your guitars are exquisite. This archtop is no exception and the color on this one is a beautiful surprise. I generally don't care for bursts but this one isn't the norm.

Grumpy, here is an article to help you better understand what you are seeing in the photo. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perspective_distortion_%28photography%29
