Almost finished shaping and sanding the neck on my flamenco build. Headstock screwup patched and invisible under tuner plates and padauk veneer. [:Y:]

The neck is glued on to the top of my Torres classical. The Spanish heel and high action don't make a lot of sense to me, but I am building this the traditional way.

And now for something completely different, a Klein inspired headless 8 string jazz guitar. I may be biting off more than I can chew with this one, but we will see.

I finally finished my second classical guitar today. This like the first was built from a LMI kit. Sounds pretty good, I am still waiting for the string to settle in.
Top - Engelmann Spruce
Back and Sides – East Indian Rosewood
Pore Fill – Zpoxy
French Polish using Ubeaut Hard shellac

Heal well Padma! You know gravy is what a big meal like Thanksgiving is all about ;) should be fine through a straw.

And thanks for the kudos on the feather inlay, that's mine :)

I have this antique hammer dulcimer on my bench for a little TLC and strings. The lady who brought it in from Illinois could not find anyone in her area that was willing to work on it for her. They all wanted to sell her a new one. This instrument belonged to her grandfather, who passed away in 1958, so a new one just wouldn't do. So here it is in southern Missouri for refurbishing.

I could use a hand determining the proper size tuning hammer for what appear to be piano tuning pins. They are .262 in at the shaft and have a square tapered top. The taper is from .256 at the string hole to .156 at the top of the pin. My best guess is a #2 star head. If it needs to be a #1, some smarter than me, please let me know.

Beautiful work going on as usual everyone. Rod, EIR is my personal favorite with Taz blackwood. I have one of Peter M's grand auditoriums with that combo, and it's beautiful.

I'm waiting on my new walnut fretboard to arrive. Danny was extremely gracious to offer to send me a slotted fretboard for use on my mili-tele. I offered to pay him several times, but he kept refusing. He said he really wants to see it done and is tired of waiting around on me to get my act together laughing6-hehe . Ok, I'm kidding. He was just very willing to help out a newb, and it's greatly appreciated [:Y:] .

Anyway, while I'm waiting on it to come in, I went and bought an offcut piece of plate glass to use in sanding. I then worked on my neck face to make sure it was leveled to receive the new board. I'm also making a good straight edge out of a piece of 20" x 1 1/2" x 1/16" aluminum. I'm using my plate glass to mill the edges perfectly flat. For some reason, though, it seems to be taking a long time.

*edit I forgot to mention that I found a pretty decent local wood supplier as well. About 5 miles from my house is a business that produces high-end custom shutters. They have a wood sale every month, so I stopped by on Saturday. Lots of nice stuff (local and exotic). Plenty of stuff like curly maple, purpleheart, bubinga, oak, myrtle, etc. I found a really nice piece of mahogany that was perfect to get about 4 electric necks out of for only $10. I didn't buy it though. Too many other things to take care of first, but at least I know they have this stuff available.
