That's a beautiful guitar in all respects. I love that bridge. I've heard of a builder who keeps the truss rod cover on with an eraser glued to the back and cut to wedge in the opening.

Fabulous guitar John ....love the look.
I've used 3mm rare earth magnets to attach trussrod covers on quite a few... hate the look of the screw & this works well. I sink the headplate ones a bit, while the cover ones sit a bit proud, so the cap is located mechanically and snaps into position. I no longer us the felt. (Ken, I tried the eraser first but never got good results.)

Absolutely beautiful and inspiring John.

A question on the bending of the Wenge, you say it's the hardest to bend. Do you mean it breaks easily? Or is it just that it wants to refuse holding the shape? I have two sets of it, and am planning to use one, on one of my upcoming builds.

Dave, thanks for the info on the truss cover.

John, top drawer!

I really love the shape, the bridge and the inlay cutting across the nut... Very tasty.

I used Wenge only once, on a Baritone. It is pretty troublesome to work with, and to make matters worse, I trimmed it all with Snakewood, which I found horrible as well. How did you pore fill? I used good old-school pumice and it worked like a charm, even on those abyss-like crevasses! Ha!

I love the tone of my Wenge Baritone. It's still a great buy too and I suspect it's workability will keep it that way!

Love the design elements of the rosette and the bridge design. Really appealing.

Gorgeous John! Love the Celtic knot (I'm sort of partial that way!); love the shape. The whole guitar oozes beauty.

Cheers
Rick

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Did I mention that your work is lovely? Well, it is. Sublime is the correct word indeed.

Man, I've got a long, long way to go. Good thing this is so much fun!

Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration.

John,
It is great to see you building master pieces again. That really is a beauty in all details! Congrats on this beauty and wish you luck at healdsburg. I'm willing to bet you will make some sales this year because of this guitar. It really is a beautiful design. [:Y:] [clap]

I am lucky enough to be going to Healdsburg, and will get to see one in person. It is a thing of beauty. Love the cutaway and the dark finish.
Thanks for posting the pics! Beth

John... there IS a VERY good reason for posting your pics.... that is stunning! - With my playing hat on, I dont think you will ahev any trouble with the market coming to you on this one... the elegance and understated beauty is wonderful to see - if she sounds as good as she looks, then it will be a wonderful instrument!
