I asked the question of how you clamp the soundboard and back on. After reading the responses I got, here I go, #1 is starting to go together.

#47 looks nice. I'll just be happy to get #1 done so I have a better idea how to do #2.

Lookin good everyone. Mr. Anderson (he says in his best Agent Smith voice), nice to see you getting closer on that GC

I wasn't happy with the headstock on this one so I refinished it.

Yes, I'll be very happy to get the GC finally finished Rod, thanks

Oh, I so know that feeling Dave. The one I posted is just over 4 years, 4 tops, 2 sets of sides, 3 rosettes, 2 full finishes and as much patience as I can muster...

Drilled the tuner holes in my neck and used the StewMac reamer to drill the recess for the tuner bushings. Trimmed the headstock veneer so the nut fits. Filled the voids under the fret ends with ebony dust and CA and sanded flush. Sanded down the neck and applied the first coat of zpoxy. The mahogany sure looks nice.

I planned on doing fome spraying this weekend.....but the wind is howling and I had a cyst cut out of my heel Fri. morning so couldn't stay on my feet too much at a time.

I’m working on a L-00 based loosely off of the Grellier plan. This is my first guitar. I have spent a fairly lengthy time researching and preparing for the build and have finally moved from planning to making guitar shaped parts.

Over the past couple of years I have been building and rebuilding jigs in preparation for the build. This weekend I used a bunch. Last week I bent the Honduras Rosewood sides in my fox bender. This weekend I made the neck and tail block and glued the rim together.

I profiled the sides with a chisel. A first for me. Sharp is easier than sort of sharp. laughing6-hehe

Then I sanded the back to a 15’ radius. I made the dish a few years ago so it is nice to finally use it.

Next week I plan to install the side tapes and get my linings in. Jim Womack and Sniggly have been pushing me out of my jig making rut. Thanks guys. [:Y:] Although since I’m running out of unused jigs I see more in the future.

Filippo,

Are those tears of joy all over that soundboard (third photo) for having your kids so dedicated about building a musical instrument and hanging out with their dad?

I'd love to have my kids in the shop doing stuff like that with me, but they really don't care too much about it. They've been seeing me do this work all of their lives...its too ordinary for them. Although my son, at 20, is now starting to realize that his ol'man actually does know a thing or two...

I've been working on this table most of the fall along with Stephen Haigh, Burstown, Ont. who did all the marquetry & I turned it into 4 table which will primarily be used as 1. 4 x 10 overall. I did the parabolic pedestal in the vacuum bag. One of the kool things he did on some poplar 'leaves' was to burn the piece with hot sand in order to shade the colour.

Working on my first classical.

The neck is done... I juste have to finish the bracing on the Redwood top, and I'm ready to glue the top on neck!

It's gonna be a torres style, Redwood on EIR, with Hond Mahog (hard to find in canada..!) neck.

Francis

Thanks Mike!

Hang in there! They say its the journey that counts, not the destination! (Unless you try to make a living out of it, than the destination becomes a focus!)
