I think we should call them kerfless linings!

Just my two cents: reverse kerfed linings. Love the way they look. And smell if they are SC. [:Y:]

One advantage to solid or laminated linings is for those who use CA to glue their bindings. With the solid linings you don't get glue running down the insides of the guitar.
