Is that a Spanish V joint at the headstock? I didn't notice that before.

I veneered the back of the head stock, there were some strange tangents between the laminations of the neck and the tuning machines. T

I too believe the dots are too large. The rosette doesn't quite go with the remainder of the guitar. The bridge footprint is cool, just needs to be slimmed down a bit, too much weight as mentioned before, it would look a little more graceful. But over all, a very fine looking guitar! [:Y:]

Congrats on making your first guitar, it inevitably seems like such an incredible investment of energy, thought, and often money!

Hey, one more critique, which may be helpful for the future. Amateur furniture work, guitars, woodwork in general...often suffers from too much sanding and over-rounding. To my eye, aesthetics suffer from too much sandpaper work. Keeping a well-defined clean line is not as simple as it may seem, as the imperfections in shapes become amplified. Try to keep a cleaner, better-defined lines.

Your headstock shot shows a lot of round-over. Excessive to my taste.

Again, congratulations on #1, and we'll look forward for more :)

I disagree too. I really dislike cold hard corners on guitars, and furniture for that matter. I know, it's a sign of "master woodworking", but it also makes stuff look cold, hard and uncomfortable. If I look at two guitars and one looks hard and cold and has sharp corners, and the other has soft corners and a warm look, I'm picking up the soft, warm one first, every time, even if the cold, hard one has a big name on it. I work very hard to soften the hard corners on my guitars. Some have criticized my look, but I find it interesting that only builders have criticized it, no player has, so far.

laughing6-hehe All in good fun, it is my first guitar, I just wanted to build it, play it and hear it, I spent no time splitting hairs. My goal was to finish relatively quickly and discover if I enjoyed the process. Thanks again to all for the feedback. T
