I have no doubt that if it proves to be of value to luthiers as well as other woodworkers that there will be knock offs quicker then a blink of an eye. I would like first to get my finished product out there to at least set the bar and see if there is a market for it. Then if sales aren't there maybe make plans available. I've pretty much shown enough detailed pictures that anyone with some building skills can look at them and make one. My hopes are if someone is going to build one that they at least try and build an equal or better one and not a cheaper quality one as for opperation. I don't care if knobs and small stuff that is more appearance then funtion is changed.
But yes, I'm hoping to get some compensation off this one. It's time for me to get serious about trying to make somewhat of a living from this hobby since working in the electrical construction field hasn't yielded but 7 weeks of work going on 18 months now.
I don't mistrust Asians any more or less then any other people I don't know but I'm sure not naive enough to think giving a set of plans to someone especially in another country to see what they can get some CNC guys to make it for is just giving away the farm way too easy. I'm more worried the CNC guys then you.
You wouldn't ask some other company for some plans so you could go and have it made cheaper by someone else would you?
If I do indeed build them and you want one you'll just have to pay the price for it, sorry. If I don't then you maybe in luck to be able to buy the plans.
Wish Me Luck.
