I'd be interested in splitting a gross of light Ph/Br with someone else, although I still would like to know the price first.

Elixirs have won support from manufacturers simply because coated strings don't deaden out so quickly when placed on a guitar that is hung on the wall of a music shop and played by every man and his dog. In that environment of course standard PBs like D'Addario EJ16's don't last well, but to my ear they sound much better than any of the coated strings I have tried and with the bulk buy price meaning they cost peanuts to replace, I do not see any advantage to coated strings, especially when you consider how difficult it can be to milk that bit of extra tone out of an instrument.

Cheers

Kim

Its a "feel" thing for me... I like the way they sound and the way that they feel. But what we do not want to do is turn this into a "they vs them" thread. This is about fans of D'Adario strings. I hope in a little while we can do a group buy for Elixirs.

You D'Adario fans, carrion please.

Mike :)

I'm in for a gross. I would also be interested in some mediums.

Evan McCartney and I are in for a 1/4 gross of p/b lights each. We need two more people for a 1/4 each or one person for 1/2 gross.
I can do the $ collection and string distribution if everyone agrees.

Sorry, Alain, I missed your post when I read the new stuff this AM. You're in for 1/2 gross of pb lights. Right?

So. Alain Moisan, Evan McCartney, and Dan Pennington are interested in splitting a gross of P B lights.

I think this near 10 year old pc is starting to feel it's age. It's doing things like this (multiple actions) and occassionally seems to just "wander off" into it's own world. Guess I'm going to be forced to help the economy recover or else get off the web...which might not be the worst decision I've ever made! ;)

Is there anyone else in Canada who wants to split a gross? No point in paying cross border shipping twice.
PM me.

I'd be interested in jumping in on a 1/4 split (P/B light) if there's one happening.

If there is a chance at med's ... or even medium guage strings, I'd be interested.

Lance ... one thing I noticed the last string buy was that the strings came in bags of 250, as opposed to 144 (which means you have to break up a bag even if a full gross is ordered) ... are the strings sold in 250s, as to make it easier by not having to count out sets if someone orders say 2 gross (and is willing to take 250 as opposed to 288) ???

just curious ... seems like the same issue as hot dogs sold in 12s and buns in 8s

Okay, Lance.
We`re all waiting with baited breath and almost to the end of the chain.
Details, please.
Tony,
If you buy a pack of hot dogs and a package of buns, it all works out, because one hot dog goes to the toddler running around, one goes to the dog because it fell off the grill onto the ground, you eat one yourself (because you like cold hot dogs, or are just used to them), and your buddy has to have the one that caught fire, and then you have to say,
"Honey, we need more hot dogs. Don`t forget more buns, cause the numbers need to add up!" 8-)
I`m in, just need to know details, as I would rather split a gross with someone.
Coe Franklin

Coe, I'll split a gross w/ you.
And if there are others who want to jump in, that's fine too.
I could take a quarter gross, or a half, but would prefer to spread the joy around a bit.

Steve

For us who weren’t around when the last group buy took place it might be of interest to know how much each set would cost?
What's the standard shelf life for strings anyway?
I hope I’m not making Mikes life miserable when I say that I would also be more interested in Elexirs.
