Wow, thanks everyone, some really great comments, and appreciate your feedback. So it looks like the rosette, soundport and head stock are the hits. Also, that Killer Koa! Yes, that Koa was pretty much kept in a vault with his finest Brazilian Rosewood. Almost had to pry it out of his hands when he handed it over to me!

I actually thought of getting them from you, but I thought the shipping would be just as expensive coming from Canada as Japan, so I thought any savings wouldn't be enough to hassle you. But If I ever need a set again, I'll order them plenty of time in advance and see what pricing you can come up with. Thanks for offering!

I remember there was a discussion a while back about being physically drawn to a guitar, and because of the looks, it made you want to play it more. Well, I think this is true. I don't think this is the best sounding guitar I ever picked up, but I'm visually drawn to it, and it makes me want to play it more because of this. So this has been a great learning experience in guitar design and execution. Thanks to all for the very nice comments. Ian, I laughed when I read your comment

So my next project is reskinning 2 Japanese Shamisen's, then setting them up and learning to play them
I'll post some pics later on this process.
