Nice site! I'm on DSL and like to complain about how slow it is, but your galleries seemed to load ok for me. I did notice that when I searched and found 11 guitars, it broke the list into 3 pages. If it were me, there would either be an option to show 10,20,50, all, or if no option, the fixed list length needs to be longer.

Mike

Mark,

Great idea!

I just wonder about the intuitiveness of incorporating classical and flamenco under "nylon string" within "acoustic". When I see "acoustic" it means steel-string to me. I wonder about someone looking for a classical or flamenco guitar and seeing only "acoustic" or "electric". Maybe that's just me.

Best wishes,
Max

I'm guessing, Max, just like the marketplace, 85% will be steel string. 10% will be crossovers and 5% will be classical guitars. We live in a small world, comparatively.

Hi Mark,

If you start with a Basic Listing -can you upgrade to a Standard or Deluxe listing at a later date?

By the way I have no trouble loading the pictures, but I noticed that only the first and last picture of the five are able to be seen.

Regards,
Brad

Thanks for all the feedback !!

I'll try to answer a few questions....

Other instruments, such as mandolins, could be added to the "type" search filter to make it easy for visitors to separate them from the guitars. If there was enough demand I would seriously consider adding a separate category for them.

Classical guitars are part of the "Acoustic" category. Right now they can be located by searching 'nylon string'. If there get to be so many of them that it was still difficult to sort them out, I will divide them up with search filters for classical, flamenco, crossover, etc.
One think I have tried to do is avoid cluttering up the search filters with choices that lead to empty search results. Except for a few fixed items, the choices in the search filters are generated from the listings data base. That means that you won't find 'African blackwood' in the back and side wood search filter unless there is an African blackwood guitar listed on the site.

A listing can be "upgraded" at any time for the difference in cost between the listing types.

I'm happy to hear that the galleries are working OK for most visitors.

Thanks,
Mark
