Heshman,

The black is fine but it wouldn't work without your impeccable workmanship. [:Y:] I am constantly impressed by how clean your work is.
Nice job.

Great job as always, Hesh!

Back in the day, my Dad was a general contractor for many years. (He's still alive, but is semi-retired.) My dad always said that you can tell the quality of a man's work by looking in his toolbox. The way my dad would hire people is that, when someone came to the jobsite looking for work, my dad would ask to see his tools. One look at the man's toolbox would tell my dad all he needed to know.

There's a carpenter who has been doing some work on my neighbor's house, and the other day he saw me working in my shop, and he stopped and struck up a conversation. He showed me his tools in the back of his truck. For a minute, I thought "is this guy Hesh?" ;) I've never seen someone take such good care of his tools, or so proud of them.

One look at Hesh's shop tells you all you need to know about his workmanship. The guitars just confirm it.

And for the record, Hesh, I'm not a fan of the black tops. I understand why people might like them, but to me, the wood is the work, and I like seeing the work.

Heshter, as always, it looks good.
Say, why not try a gold top?

Steve

A Gold Top... gaah :D Thanks Steve - other colors are always under consideration! [:Y:]

Kelby thanks for that - you made my day. Hey do you ever show your Dad the OLF? He might get a kick out of seeing a bunch of grown men and women going nuts over guitars?

Nick - I not asking you to find a purple sheep am I????? :D Relax everyone Nick and I are bros on the ANZLF. [:Y:]

Thanks Link, Tim, and Michael!

Lillian asked: "Care to elaborate a bit more?" I would prefer not to until the guitar is strung up and I can hear how it sounds. If anything that I did has a positive outcome I am happy to share - always. I will say that voicing this one to sound like a dread with tapered bracing and not scalloped bracing is going to be the biggest gamble that time will tell.... More to come when she sings, or not....

Thanks everyone!!! :)

Very clean work as usual Hesh! Looking forward to seeing it finished. I'd like to know the weight after finish. I'm just waiting for lacquer to cure on the mando I'm doing. Guess what colour the top is? OK, it's not a colour apparently.

Cheers,
Danny

Look forward to see it finished my friend. looks great... May I ask, whats the reason for making her beefier ? Most Bluegrass players I know play martins D-28 etc. so is there a specific reason that you did this ?.

Lars.

Looks great Hesh!

I love that black top L-00 that you did so I can only assume that this one will be just as sweet.

One of these days I'm going to have to try a black top as well.

Keep us posted when it makes its transformation.
