I had just about finished a version of the Shopnotes sander last Spring, when I happened upon a Delta 18-36 sander on Craigslist for $600. At that point I bailed on finishing it. If you need Pillow blocks, a 16 x 48 conveyor belt, or any of the rest of the paraphernalia, I'd be receptive to reasonable offers. I expanded the plan to accommodate a 20"W x 5" Dia drum. Not saving anything over a used or scratch&dent Jet or whatever if that's available to you and you're a savvy shopper, but still alot less than a brand new one, and, dang, it's just cool to build your own :)
