Why would you even want to bring your views on health care into this discussion?

Mike don't take what I said the wrong way. I was surprized and those are two great sources of info that everyone should check out as they will find a lot of answers to their questions there and by some very good luthiers and builders. Although it is hard to keep up with all the stuff Frank has going on it's worth a try even just to see what he has listed to keep it in the back of your mind for the future. That's where we hung out before OLF and a lot still do. Anyone who just limits their time to this one forum is short changing themselves.
Here's another site to add to your favorites list too.

I found a interesting youtube today on making a Spanish rosettes too.

Mike....sand a pencil lengthwise until it is to the lead (half a pencil, if that makes sense), then lay it with the flat side down on the fretboard and mark the nut. This will show approximately where the top of the nut will be. Then you can sand it almost to the line, cut the string slots, and then sand it down to the final shape.

Hope that makes sense. If not, check out Frank Ford's website!

Now how cool is that? I will check out Ford's site. Thanks!

Oh, and thanks Chris! To be honest, I did spend a lot of time researching building the bodies and so on. Its the technical stuff on the finish end that has me suspended in time. Several guitars sitting around waiting for me to figure out the last few steps.

Chris, the Rosette video set was stunning. I wonder if that is fiber board? I learned something about cutting the channel too.
