Nice tobacco burst there, Nick!
And the natural is beautiful in it's own way.

Thanks Nelson, I do enjoy doing a good burst and have spent some time trying to perfect them. Fortunately this has lead to getting known by and called upon by local music shops to refinish a burst or three, allowing me to practice some more ! :D I love the almost 'Marmalade' burst on your Avatar BTW, it is truly beautiful.
The Natural is better "in the flesh" with curly and birdseye Maples used throughout but this particular shot does washout the colors slightly, my skills with a camera are yet to be improved upon.

Until there is a dedicated area, how about some show and tell in the meantime just for fun?

Here is one from a few years ago.

To all those who've posted pics so far...those look killer. Hey Jordan, did you use any kind of stain or toner on that one? Because that to me is the perfect shade for natural. I've got a 16" archtop in the works right now so I'll be asking you guys all kinds of dumb questions.
Jason
PS Can we vote more than once for an archtop area?

Yes, there is a bunch of color in that one. If i remember correctly it is an amber shellac seal coat with KTM-9 on top, with a bunch of colortone vintage amber and maybe a drop of tobacco brown and cherry red in the KTM, or something like that.

Thanks Jordan, I'm working on an 'experimental' Maccaferri just at the moment with plans for a 335 style semi-hollow percolating in the gray matter :)

Nick, maybe we should develop a "marmalade" finish.
The photo is just relected light, of course, but wouldn't it be neat to produce an actual finish like that.
Possible?

Our daughter, who is a professional photographer, took that photo in her studio.
She knows a few "light tricks".

Well the combination of Dad making it and Daughter photographing it works a treat! A "Marmalade" finish wouldn't be impossible, just the right application of Honey Amber and subtle reds & medium browns would probably do it :D
It might just be worth looking into because it sure looks gorgeous!
