Kevin, beautiful work. Staining the neck on the A/B was a great idea.

I read that cocoblo produces toxic dust and it's hard to glue. So what do you do to protect yourself?

Tai, many of the woods worked with in Luthiery fall into that category, and Cocobolo can be one of the worst for some. If you start working with it and experience allergic symptoms or irritation it is probably not a good wood for you to work with. If you don't have problems, it is a wood that you should be very respectful of - use normal precautions for dust control, but be very diligent. I make a point of wearing long sleeves, getting out of the clothes quickly, and washing a lot, using a scraper where possible, sanding outside if I can, etc.

HI Kevin. Beautiful work indeed. It is great to hear that you are back in the shop under a full load once again. Sweet looking rosette on the Blackwood guitar too. Spalted Maple is one of my favorites.

Thanks Tim,
That rosette came from a very special place. Thanks again for it. It really played a large role
in the overall beauty of that OM. Spalted Maple has become one of my favorites, too.

I may be passing through your area this winter and will contact you to get together to take
you and your lovely wife out for a meal. I look forward to meeting you and sharing some life
stories and tempering an already fine friendship a little.

Thanks again,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars

Simply stunning craftsmanship and beautiful woods. I think this is the greatest thing about building guitars - instead of feeling insanely jealous ( OK so there is a little bit of that ;-)) at your skill in creating such breathtaking works of art, it merely inspires us at the beginning of the journey to get better, and learn more skills and as much as we can as we go from number 1 to 2 and so on. Inspirational stuff!

Wow! David, you are very serious about cleaning yourself. A scraper and sanding wow7-eyes You must use micromesh to get squeaky clean.
