well I started playing guitar in my mid 20's,a foreman in carolina was into bluegrass, took me awhile to appreciate the music ,I started liking the " vintage " sound of some of the instruments, bought a '34 gibby l-4 nice piece of artwork , but a bit tough to play , then I bought the oldest martin i could afford,a 1975 d-28 sunburst , a beautifull guitar . could not tune the thing to save my life. eventualy found a luthier that explained to me the bridge had been misplaced at the factory , I had a realy tough time understanding that ... then I bought a 1965 J-200 from someone in australia ( ebay deal ) had a neck reset done .. then...... could not tune the guitar...... yup you guessed it ! the bridge was misplaced at the factory I had a very hard time understanding that ...... so.... .. I took it to a guitar " specialist " down in westchester county and got an estimate for a refret, new nut, and having him make a new bridge , not even close to the original , to keep it in the same foot print without altering the original, of $1,150.00 . that is the day I decided to sign up for building a guitar with a master builder . that was 2 1/2 years ago , now I have about 25 sets of wood , and am just putting the finishing touches on my first solo build ! am I sick or what ? will someone please help me ? jody
