It's a little telling that they use a different truss rod in their ######### guitars.
If your neck is removed, can the truss rod be replaced, without taking the fret board off. His message seems to suggest that they can.
Anyway, sorry you are having to deal with this.

They say is can be, but I wouldn't put that style back in anyway so it's a moot point-I am sticking with the Martin style 2 way rod which takes a deeper and narrower rout.

Right. I am also sticking with the Martin style 2-way rod. I just got a few in from Blues Creek.

Very unfortunate turn of events, but as a builder, if the choice of materials was yours, you take on the responsibility to the customer. If the manufacturer does anything to make it right, then good on them.
The only way around this is if the customer specifically ordered a particular material or hardware and it's included in the text of the written order.
