Good to see you return to the OLF,

Nice looking horse you have there in your avatar. We had a similar horse when I was about 15 years old. His name was Blaze and was green-broke so he was a hanfull to ride but he loved my mother and she could get him to do anything she wanted... The rest of the family,,, not so much..

Hi Darryl, that's a blast from the past, good to hear you're still about.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
