I just saw a picture oh Paul McCartney playing guitar strung this way and it got me thinking. This guitar would be way out of tune up the neck, yet he wrote and played Blackbird this way. Someone tell Paul he can't do this. Right, he's Paul.

Lots of stuff has to be converted when a righty is made into a lefty and it isn't worth doing these days with lots of lefties out here available for sale.

So the nut has to be removed and a new one made.

If the fret work is good the maker will have imparted more relief on the bass side and less on the treble side. This has to be reversed now with a fret dress. And yes a Luthier can control exactly how much relief you have where and not just with an adjustment.

The saddle slot has to be plugged with matching wood and a new saddle slot cut in the right place with lefty compensation.

A new saddle has to be made as will compensating the strings appropriately.

If it's an acoustic a righty is braced differently than a lefty. Although you Hutch and Paul could get away the bracing as is it still is not optimized for a left handed player.

This is a common request for us people call us and ask us for a price. We generally won't take these in and when folks hear the price they go buy a new left handed guitar instead.

We know Paul's lead guitar player from Wings and our old shop before we had it was visited by John Lennon.
