Anyone use this jig?....thoughts? I'm looking for ways to make this process more precise.

My first thought is why? Making a jig to drill bridge pin holes accurately is very easy.

I totally agree....except when I'm the one making them. I've made 3 and there's something wrong (albeit a different thing) with each one. [headinwall] [headinwall] [headinwall]
I know this seems easy but I'm missing something and looking for a solution.

OK, my second thought is that this particular jig doesn't appear to offer an easy way of aligning the bridge blank under the jig holes. So it looks to me to have a higer PITA factor than the home made version (i.e. the one Tony Karol posted pictures of some time back).

That jig of Tony's is really good- [:Y:] [:Y:] [:Y:] . The concept of using (equal thickness) blocks to index/space the holes is a very useful idea.

Cheers

I have the LMI jig. It comes with pointed locating pins. If you draw a straight line on bridge the pins can be lowered through the holes and positioned on the line (that's what I do with the pins that came in the package anyway). There is a little bit of positioning hassle i guess. The end result is a very nice, straight row of holes.
I have not seen the Tony Karol jig. It sounds interesting.

I use the LMI jig too. My only complaint is that I wish it would have one more set of holes for even larger spacing for 12 strings. It works well.
