I built a a guitar about a year ago and sold it to one of the local guitar players...The guitar was French Polished...I told him to bring the guitar back for regular checks..I have noticed that in places where his skin makes contact with the French polish , the finish looks a little rough...I have repaired the finish and I am thinking about putting several coats of Truoil over the French Polish...Will this help solve the problem?...Larry

Yes, it should. I did this exact thing recently and it worked out fine. I did a light/fine sanding or steel wool of the shellac before the TruOil application. (Can't remember which).
