Has anyone built with a spruce top, back, and sides? If so, how well does spruce bend?

I've bent spruce for solid linings. Tends to break easily but overall it's OK.

Hi Brian
I'm currently working on a commission using Spruce B&S.
I did the bending by hand on a pipe and found that the spruce bend very nicely indeed.
I'm using Lutz Spruce from Shane at 'High Mountain Tonewood' - one of our sponsors - and it is top quality wood (Thanks Shane [:Y:]

Check out Boucher guitars Spruce goose ... all adirondack. i have played one of the early ones, it was pretty decent .. but you certainly have to like the look of all that creamy straight grain ...

Cool, I have too much brace wood and it is all big enough to make uke back, sides, top, and maybe a neck depending on how well spruce would work for a neck.

I'm sure spruce would be ok for a uke neck. Take quarter stuff, and maybe put an ebony or rosewood reinforcement.
