I build them up on a bread board, but then route the whole channel and move them piece by piece to the top. I suppose I could glue them and move them, but never even thought of it. I just like to make sure I know what I'm doing before starting on the top. Since I re-topped #5, I might have to think on that, as I moved the rosette, and that part was pretty easy.

Waddy,

Thanks a ton, the purflings are cut from a special piece of curly maple that I have. I will be sad when that log is used up.

Max, Thank you as well. The flamenco turned out really well but I had some vicious construction issues during the process. I came close to trashing it but I kept my composure and it turned out well. Sounded really good too.

The client was happy with it as you can see.

A few facts if you please.
I appreciate the kind words Chris. I watch every video you produce with keen interest. Thank you for putting them up.
I'm not to sure what you want to know as far as facts.
I bought the Blood wood in plank form at a local wood shed. I re-sawed it and and still have enough for maybe two more builds. The top is Lutz spruce. The bracing is tiny...5mm wide 12mm tall. Single bass bar. Single finger braces. The fretboard and bridge are Ebony. 13 frets to the body. Split scale staggered frets. 26 1/8" bass side and 25 27/32" treble side. Curly Maple binding and tail graft.

That's it, I wouldn't have thought that was Bloobwood. Lutz top come from Shane?

I just finished the leveling of the second set of 4 coats of lacquer on my Coco/adi Dread. I used my RO sander with Vac hose on and the new paper I posted about a few days ago. I love power tools, this will be the 1st guitar that I will not have a aching shoulder from sanding and polishing. I will post a couple photos tomorrow.

Fred

No Chris, the top and sapwood braces came from Mario's camp. I'm sure Shane has fine Lutz tops as well. I just never knew about Shane until recently. I tend to be loyal to businesses I am familiar with and until Mario lets me down which I don't ever anticipate that he will. I'll stay with the familiar.

I had a productive week for a change. I got the following done:

I got my old Craftsman bandsaw back up and running with the repaired motor.

I got the bindings and purflings on my Paririe State Guitar. I just got the binding tape off and need to clean up:

And got the back bindings on my L-00, and with John Halls help, the neck angle is done. I'll do the top bindings/purflings this weekend.
