I took these outside pictures because we got snow. We don't get snow very often.

The first picture is my home on the left and my shop on the right. The shop is 50' wide and 40' deep. It has 12' ceilings. My guitar shop is 20' by 40'. The rest is devoted to car stuff. I built the shop after we purchased the house. I had an inordinate amount of insulation put in. I cool the shop with an 11,000 BTU A/C window unit in the summer. I heat the shop with one tiny Pelonis oil heater. The floors are concrete but before the slab was poured I had 60mil plastic put down. After that I sealed it with Behr floor sealer. Two coats. I do not have a moisture problem during any season.

Here is just the shop:

Looking at the stats for the UK anything below RH 50 is going to be a challenge.

Hey Bert;
Love your shop. Feels like mine... Just the right amount of chaos!

Daniel,

When I clean up I'm too tired to work and I can't find anything. I rather create than clean any day. I ran a guitar shop for 30 years and always had an apprentice and a gopher. I got spoiled. I'm getting better at putting tools back than I was. I've had this building for 2 plus years and I am always moving machines around arranging trying to get it right like I think I want it set up. I'm getting close to being comfortable with it. I intend to add a compressor room with a paint booth exhausted out side. I recently bought the mama-jama compressor off of craigslist. It's a 1083 pound 10 HP 2 stage 3 cylinder 120 gallon tank over 6 feet tall with an electric automatic tank moisture bleed off for pennies on the dollar...and delivered to my door...no freight charge. I'll be building the room soon as I sold my Ingersol Rand 5 HP 2 stage 80 gallon tank. I'm down to using a 3 HP that takes forever to recover. I hate it.
I saved up for my building for 25 years knowing I would never retire from the guitar business. They'll find me with a chisel or sanding block in my hand one day.
