Okay, this Taylor came in last week...the owner's kid plays with Hillsong United over in Australia...big climate change from Memphis...guitar was left out of it's case for the last year...not humidified at all, obviously...now, I don't really want to tackle this because of the severity and because I don't think I could fix the Taylor finish invisibly...any ideas, any takers? PM me if you're the guy/girl.

Is this a road guitar or a kick around guitar? If so i don't think a totally invisible finish touch up may not be necessary. Thats up to the owner. I would work some hide glue into the crack and clamp from the top to the back with Irwin pistol grip clamps to seal it up. I think it would be ok with out reinforcements on the inside but since it's close to the pickup control you could add a few cleats to be on the safe side...Mike

Bump for my pal Larry!

Yeah - are you sure that the owner doesn't want the repair to show at all?

Yeah, this is what I do. Glue and cleat is easy. Invisible is possible. I'd have to talk to the customer--what does he hope for? What does he hope to spend?
