I am installing a truss rod (single acting LMI rod) in an acoustic guitar with the access from the soundhole. (I ussually have the access at the head)
I have only done this once before and I can't remember if I should have the adjusting nut even with the end of the neck,or continue it to the end of the headblock.

Thanks in advance,
Brad

Brad,

IMO, it needs to extend at least to the end of the neckblock. It doesn't hurt if it sticks out a little further, you just need enough room between the UTB and the adjustment nut to get the wrench in. You can see in the attached pic that the truss rod end extends a little past the neckblock. It works fine.
