Hi All,

Number 6 is in the books. The oil finish did not turn out well enough to be a seller in my book, but aside from that, it turned out pretty close to "real dang good". Playability is great and sounds great - very even throughout, great tone, (this is the one I feared I had thinned the top to much... .110). Used medium height gold frets from LMI and med Elixers to start. I do have to live with everyday action height (I prefer lower myself) because the neck I installed is 1 degree vice your standard of 1.5 and am about as low on the saddle as I can go before loosing all angle from the pin holes. It's a player for sure and is going to give the Martin D16V a run for playing time.
OK, I'm a computer dummy, I've tried everything with the attachement load below, how do I post pictures?

Looks great Dave! Looks like you did some inlay on the headstock.....what is it? I guess you inlaid the rosette as well, nice job. What wood did you use for the back and sides?

Rosewood Sides & back, I did the rosset, but not the headstock. It's abalone and done by Custom Inlays. I don't have the tools nor the inkling to get into inlay work, that's an art form all it's own!

Looks nice! I am building a Gibson Jumbo for my #2. I had a J45 that I sold to buy some building stuff, so it is kind of like a tribute to an old friend. To me, nothing beats the looks, sound, and feel of a slope shoulder dread. I like your headstock shape too by the way!

Mine will be more of an AJ/J45 mix--standard scale but with mahogany based on original 40s J45 and AJ plans. FSC Honduran Mahogany B/S & neck, AAAA Sitka top and braces, and West African Ebony EVERYWHERE else. I hope it ends up as nice as yours!
