Can someone tell me the degree of wetness and temperature needed to bend plain bubinga sides on a fox style bender?

I bent it on a pipe and I just sprayed it wet and bend like normal.

Hi Bill,

If you will search this forum for Harp Guitar, you will find info on my project... and it is built with lightly figured bubinga. When I bent it in the Fox, I spritzed it and laid brown paper over it, spritzed that too.

It is a brittle wood due (IMHO) to low oil content. So, take it slow. But it is a gem to work with. Very hard. And beautiful under finish.

Don't over do the water or it may ripple.

I had some ripple but very little. On my first build I had LMI bend it for me and it came in with heavy ripples! I had to sand them out but it was difficult since the ripples were huge and I was afraid I'd go through the side. I put some pressure into it and not use too much water.
