I've noticed that the Gotoh 510's from different suppliers have different washers for under the hex nut.
Some have a machined washer which is domed slightly to be thicker at the middle while others have simply a flat washer.
The domed washers have a nice polished finish while the flat ones are a matte finish that clashes with the rest of the tuner and look cheap.
I use the gold tuners only so can't speak for other "colors".
Makes me wonder if they are coming from different suppliers and, if so, what other quality issues are lurking.
Anyone else noticed this?
Thanks
Nelson Palen

Interesting Nelson.

Several years ago we had a group buy of the 510's that Peter M. managed for us. If I recall correctly all of the parts for the 510's were purchased as parts and then someone assembled them into completed tuners. Maybe this is what the individual suppliers do too. Just a thought and it would explain some different parts on the tuners from different sources.

I have ordered standard chrome minis from different suppliers, and the buttons and iirc the circular back plate (which, btw, is real easy to press out of position unless you are aware of this) are also sometimes a bit different. Don't mix up the sets!
