I acquired an older laminate trimmer. It works, but it's missing the collet. The data tag on it identifies it as a Bosch 91263. I contacted Bosch in hopes of getting some information at the very least, or a collet if I was really lucky. They had just one sentence for me. "We no longer support that model."

Cruising Goggle I have found a couple of used tool sites that list it a Stanley and as a Skil, but no pictures and no other information.

I know nothing about the particulars of the nature of collets other than they hold the bit in place. Do they have to be brand/model specific? Would another Bosch collet work? Think & Tinker has precision collets for Porter-Cable routers http://www.precisebits.com/products/equ ... s_nuts.asp that seem well worth the money. Their Bosch line is coming soon, though I don't think my laminate trimmer is going to be on their list.

Lillian, Collets can be pretty generic. I would just take the trimmer down to your favourite tool store and try some on for size. You might find one that fits.

Hope that helps.

Hmmm .. unless the collet taper is EXACTLY the right one, I would advise against using a non original one .... the last thing you need is a bit coming out at 25K rpm .... just because the threads fit doesnt mean the taper is right ...

Spend a hundred bucks and buy a new PC 7310 or Bosch Colt ....

Danny, I have the nut, just not the collet.

Thanks Tony. That's what I ended up doing. I bought a Colt. I was dinking around in the shop the other day and saw the old laminate trimmer. It works, so it goes against my nature to just toss it. I was hoping that someone might know a bit more about it and maybe point me towards a parts supplier. Thanks anyway.
