Those are used indoors with no venting - the byproducts go right into the room. That's why I contrasted it with vented or electric systems which wouldn't have the same issue.

My mistake Andy .. had never heard of them - so where does all the bad stuff go, like CO2, CO etc ????

I think that the idea is that those heaters only make CO2 and H2O. If they're running right, there shouldn't be any CO - a byproduct of incomplete combustion....so...the baddies go right into your lungs, straight to your brain and attach themselves to the creative bits of your gray matter.

I think I stopped using mine too late [xx(] [xx(] [xx(]
