I'm building an automated side bender that will bend both sides at once and a cutaway and I'm wondering what the widest sides any of you bend. I figure 5 1/2" would be pretty wide and will probably go for 12" total width? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I think, from memory because it is still packed, that my heating blanket and bending forms are 6" wide and I would never bend anything that wide.

Sounds like you are fine with 5.5". Keep us posted - your bender sounds very cool! [:Y:] [clap] [clap] [clap]

12" should be safe!
Make sure the sides are well supported across all that width!

I do not make dreads. so 10" is fine for me!
Even though i need less!
My bender has worked great for 33 years!!

Planning well as your are doing will make it much more pleasant in your guitarmaking future!!
