I have been looking in vain for some metal pickup covers for P and J bass pickups. Is there something about the conductance that would interfere with this? Or is there just zero demand for it?

I would assume that there is just no demand for it.

Much of what we see today is based upon how things were when they were first released...what is classic.

I am positive it could be done without too much of an interference in the magnetic field.
