Hi All

I just finished a parlor guitar and as a public service I would like to warn you against it. Someone may try to sell it to an unsuspecting buyer.

Thanks for the warning. That guitar's so good looking, I probably would have been tempted otherwise.

Beautiful guitar Michael.
I enjoyed the story, that should work!
Nice site, and I am impressed by the quality of your builds.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
