hello i wanted to share this quick video of my second clasical.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjAUGXL1AUQ

i recorded it on the pc with a cheap beringher condenser, and there are noises of all kinds on the background (specially cars going by lol)
the stings are quite old too.
the piece is "Milonga del Angel" by Astor Piazzolla a version i took from Dimeola mostly.

...yes there are flaws on the playing too [headinwall] .. what you gonna do.. :D

thanks!

Not to worry. We should be better builders than players in my estimation.

I couldn't play at all when I started working on guitars. (and I still haven't got any chops after 30 some years)

That is the coolest thing I've seen on this forum in quite a while! Your playing is great and so is the instrument.

I think that is a pretty class "act", build and playing both. Well done.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Very good all around Bruno! I really enjoyed watching the photo show and listening to you play along!!
If my playing ever gets half as good as yours, I'd be more than happy my friend!
Have you started your third guitar yet? If not, what's stopping you??? laughing6-hehe

Cheers,
Dave Fifield

havent started yet on the 3rd. im just doing some jigs for sharpening, templates for routing head. and the inside/outside sides mold.
this last one gave me a hard time on the french polish on the top. which was my first attempt on that matter.
i think im gonna do a few more classicals and then maybe ill try a steel string

Bruno,

Your guitar has excellent balance and note separation. There is a crispness to the sound that I admire and there is a lot of strength in the mids and trebles. Yours is a most impressive sounding instrument.

Congratulations on your success!

Incredible achievement, Bruno! You can be proud of both your playing and your building. I agree that the headstock is great. [:Y:] Beth
