Hey all, does anyone have any input on how long we want to let the voting go? Weigh in!

Here are links to the last page of each thread. somewhere on each of these pages you will find links to the maker's video. I encourage you to look back on the rest of the thread though there is some great stuff in there. The first pages of each thread probably have the details about the goals of the challenge which may interest many of you. Happy voting!

At least until I vote Bryan. I didn't even know there was one going. I'm just looking at it right now.

Yeah, I know it will probably take a while for people to start to notice it is going on. Especially so because it was an uncharacteristically long built time. I know it can take a while for people to look through all the treads and make a decisions. I'll try to keep bumping up the notification on the main page.

As a one-time client for a guitar, I can assure you a long build time, while keeping your buyer informed, is way better than a zero build time with no communication.

Ha! So true. I meant that in the sense that the typical challenges had some sort of short time limit. In that respect we were trying something new.

Congratulations Dennis! A well deserved win in my opinion. There are so many cool details and I really like the overall shape of the body and the cutaway especially the transition from the side to the heel. I'm not usually a fan of arm bevels because to my eye the way they are often done detracts from the symmetry of the body. Yours, on the other hand, fits right in maybe because the curves at the ends blend so smoothly into the body shape. It sounds really good on your recording too.

Congrats to everyone who took part. It was fun to see so many creative ideas in progress.

Thanks very much to Bryan for organizing the Challenge. It was fun and it got me to try several things I hadn't done before.

Thanks! I agree on the arm bevels, and love that my plan worked out as well as it did. Put all the asymmetrical features together, and then no single one of them sticks out :) But it's still a fine line to walk, expanding the bass side so the soundboard doesn't look like it's missing a chunk where the bevel cuts into it, but not so much that the back looks blobby.

Since it looks like you're coming in second, do you want to claim the tuner button prize? If not, I'd be happy to claim it myself, since I'll certainly be making more for my own guitars in the future regardless.

That's right, I had forgotten that the body is asymmetrical as per the original design drawings you posted way back at the beginning. Very cool how it worked out visually.

Prizes? I had also forgotten that you had offered a set of tuner buttons for the winner. Thanks for your offer, but I would rather see you put your time and effort into making another nice set for one of your guitars.

Congratulations Dennis and Jay! I had trouble making up my mind who to vote for between you two - and I'm saying who I voted for either :) Great job both of ya!

Congrats Dennis, and everyone. There was a lot to like about this challenge. I know I learned a lot of things from all the threads. it was hard for me to vote as well.

Dennis, hopefully you won't be a no show next spring and I'll get to see this in person!

Dennis

A little late getting to this - congratulations on a great great looking instrument. Your designs are always a treat to look at, and so nicely executed. You deserved the win.
