Need to “engrave” acrylic plastic. The smallest too path is about .021” in the design. And only need to go about .025 deep as the engraving gets back filled with paint. My router is currently set at about 20,000 rpm, feed rate of 30 ipm , tool size .021” and I mostly get plastic welding itself together or wrapping around the bit. I am guessing to reduce heat, I should slow the spindle down. But I don’t know what the desired feed rate or chipload should be. Seems I need to know more to use a calculation for this.

Bit = .021“
2 flutes
Rpm?
Feed rate?
Chipload?

Thanks in advance.

The feed rate needs to be fast. The tool at almost any speed in one location generates more heat.
