Greetings and salutations from the southern state!
I just wanted to share some images I received from Jim Olson a week or so ago. I mentioned to him that I was interested in seeing how he went with the Tiger Myrtle guitar he was making. He was happily sent me the images you see below.

Even though I have never played any of his instruments, I'm becoming a big fan of his (I'm sure they sound as good as they look). I'm a big fan of his effective use of CNC & jigs, his sense of design, the business he has built, and not to mention his finished product. He has to be a master of more than just guitar building in order to be successful in all those things.

And THAT is why is so highly respected.  I also read somewhere that his production is about 60 instruments per year!  I encourage anyone interested to visit his webpage and take the shop tour of photos, very interesting.

Jim is a class act guy. His guitars are so amazing and I admittedly what to create guitars just like his.

Now that is one classy guitar right there. It's very bling free and still looks like a million bucks.

James Taylor was so blown away by the tone of an Olson guitar that all his hair fell out.........

Jim is IMHO one of the top 5 luthiers in the world.  He also is an example to follow of how a one man shop, with a few apprentices, can be profitable, efficient, offer unparalleled value and tone, and succeed in the market place.

Paul Woolson visited Jim if I recall correctly last year and posted some pics.  Perhaps Paul will weigh-in here?

Lance I would compare Tiger's abilities to produce tight, deep bass and sparkling highs with BRW.

His base price is $12,500, and that covers most items of customization, with the exception of BRW and highly customized inlays.

Very pretty.

Tims work is first calss also and realy does the wood proud.

That volute and the backstraped heastock is supurb i would love to know
how it was done.
