THanks Hesh. Found them this morning on amazon, with one-day shipping. I looked yesterday, before I ordered from JS, but did not see them. gaah Glad I at least got free shipping...

We qualify to buy our string wholesale from various places who only sell to people with a business license. More and more though we buy from Amazon because the prices are very similar, there is no shipping for Prime members and I'm a Prime member and you get it the next day.

We also can get our strings direct from D'Addario and we once again find Amazon so dang easy and fast we think the few cents we pay more is made up in less opportunity cost of being away from our billable hours at the bench.

Amazon is going to rule the world some day....

Try buying violin, or especially cello strings. $20- over $100 for just the low C on a cello. Violin string sets, once you get past student strings are $50 - over $100 a set. I got D'Adarrio Preludes for my cello. About $65. Their Heilicore steel strings are about $160. You can get some for double that.

What if the set sounds terrible?

Our sponsor, StewMac, sells the 25 set bulk-packed EJ-16/17 for $106.06 after the 20% 'wholesale-ish' discount. With StewMax, that is $4.24 a set plus state and local tariff. At the full price of $132.58, that is still almost a dime better per set than the Amazon 10-pack, but I understand if you choose to support Mr. Bezos shooting off his tiny, oddly-shaped rockets. ;)

The already mentioned 10-pack is $57.59 with the 20% discount from StewMac, which makes Amazon the more attractive option for smaller-sized boxes.

Bitterroot guitars sells phosphor bronze string (SIT brand) in 10 pack sleeves for $41.99 (electric strings for $38.99) I have used them for years and find them as good as other name brand strings.
I prefer the sleeves to the packs-much faster to string guitars.
They also have a great deal on Martin style truss rods in all sizes for around $7. in packs of ten or $10 each
They offer free shipping on orders over $99.
Fast shipping also
