Has anyone ever installed a cello endpin in a guitar ala Paul Galbraith?
If so, what tips or tricks can you share?

Thanks,
dave

I have installed a number of cello endpins in cellos . The hole is quite large. It needs an expensive tapered cello reamer, and youve got a sharp metal pin sticking out through the rear block. One good thump and that pin will crack the end block. NO

I think Paul Galbraiths's guitar end pin has evolved over time. The first, like a cello. Later, It looks possibly like something that clips on when needed.

But look at the defensive capability added to the instrument. Other than Telecaster players, everyone needs a capable weapon close at hand should the Zombie Apocalypse occur just as the set ends. That 18" or so of retractable spike sounds perfect for expedient fastening of zombie appendages to the nearest wood or carpet-over-plywood flooring surface. Count me a fan.

Definitely on my team right up until you start displaying symptoms of zombie virus infection. At that point, it's every luthier for themselves. So if I have to cello-spike you to prevent another band-mate's brains from being eaten, please understand that it's not personal. ;-)
