I've got a neck to buff out tomorrow at which point I can do final setup on the last guitar on the shelf of ufo's. After that I get to build what ever I want for the next couple. Yay me! Additional: I forgot about yesterday. Guitar body octave mando neck carve... |

Fixing sunbursts - !953 Guild X-175 getting frets, 1961 Gibson J-45 needs a bridge, an Epi AJ with a broken head, an Epi LP with a broken head, and a funkly 1938 or 9 Regal "cowboy" guitar that needs..... a lot of love. Attachment: IMG_4736-1.jpg Also building a tele clone, but nothing special about that Attachment: IMG_4725.jpg

Getting some tooling ordered for my first build. Selecting woods and such (maple or sapele?). Also getting my setlist polished up to open a concert for Phil Keaggy tomorrow. Also got a few interesting repairs going at work, nothing crazy. Just a guy that decided to level his own frets with a mill file. He failed, fun times haha! |

Wow. Cool to open for Phil Keaggy. You must be very good. The rosette above is end grain of black palm. I tried to arrange the pieces to make it denser dots on one side and a little sparser on the other. |

I usually have a couple guitars in for fret level and setup, but now I've got eight! I just got ultra low action on a larrivee. I thought it was because of the compound radius, but I just got the same on a Gibson with 12", so I must be doing something right. As soon as I get these done I can start on a commissioned concert Uke. Dan, good call. It's always best to play BEFORE Phil Keaggy! Steve, slick black palm. Actually I sensed the shading but my eyes just told me it was the lighting. Good work! New username, same ole Pat Macaluso! |

I'm just doing my 3rd fret job and setup this week. First a Martin D-1GT, then an Epiphone LP, now a sweet little Martin 00-18 SH, #231 of 250. |

I FINALLY delivered this guitar today to a young musician and great guitarist. ![]() I finished the top with post catalyzed Royal Lac sprayed on top of a shellac wash coat. It took a bit as I did not like how the first top was reacting to the load and retopped it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On my bench is a pair of soprano ukuleles that I am making for a couple of very young identical twins, commissioned by their parents. These ukuleles are made from tops and components I grabbed from the classified section on this site. Here are the kitted parts. They both will have figured Koa bindings. ![]() I am ready to close them up but I want to glue in the label first and need to ask the parents if they have a preference about who gets what. ![]() |

Looks like a bunch of nice traditionals. Terry, looks like the BRW bent well... John, nice lookin' 9 string...back is? I have been doing my usual drooling, wishing, remembering and got a steroid shot in the adz today so I could breathe easier. |

Would have preferred using it on a smaller instrument but couldn’t talk the customer out of a dred ![]() |

Sitting in a hotel room in Reno, evacuated from our place because of the Camp Fire. The whole town of Paradise on the next ridge over is gone. We held out for a time but was running out of gas for the generator so we put 5 of the guitars in the van, some clothes and vital papers and left. The perimeter is about 3 miles away from the place and the wind is blowing toward the fire, so we're hoping for the best. Had to buy a new computer to get back online. |
